Art is not extra. ART IS ESSENTIAL.
Art is essential to the foundation of any successful community, and when the arts flourish, our entire community benefits. We believe in their value to our local community and economy and need to encourage their efforts.
Professional artists continually prove that they are members of a select group: entrepreneurs. Artists are risk-takers whose success benefits the community socially, economically, and creatively. Just as any successful business must be forward-thinking and creative, artists face a similar challenge. Our citizens can help meet this challenge by providing both investment and expertise.
When we visit and support our museums, galleries and theatres weensure that our local artists know they have our backing. Join me as we celebrate and encourage Knoxville’s creative community.
